Turning your dreams into scale reality.

The following is a selection of our past work.

Malinowski’s Asylum (1:32, “Spur 1f”)

As featured in the short film “A Voluntary Commitment”

This projected started as an exercise in what is possible in a 58cm x 58cm footprint, i.e. small enough to fit inside a standard household cabinet. It quickly evolved into a technical study of various building methods, textures, moving elements, interiors and a testbed for our in-house 1:32 field locomotives. The layout also explores the ability of 1:32 models to “tell stories”…

A short film featuring a model railroad built in 1:32 scale. Layout and train handcrafted in 2020 by Studio Chilap. Keywords: Feldbahn, Studio Chilap, 1 Gauge, Narrow Gauge, Jung EL105, Spur 1f, Model Railroad

STELLWERK “MN” AT MAYEN OST, MODULE (1:32)

1:32 vs. 1:1

This project started as a single photograph from a magazine provided by the client.  All three structures, as well as the design of the FREMO:32 compatible module, was completed in about three months at a total cost of around Euro 2,500.

Jung EL105 - resin version

It all started as a weathering exercise. Then we wanted to add more features. The current version has a built in DCC decoder, sounds recorded by Mr. Georg Breuer of the actual EL105, capacitors, and a dummy engine.

view of the engine

The EL105 is one of the smallest diesel engines around, and finding space for all of the components was quite a challenge.

Brass Version

While the 3D SLA printed version is highly detailed, we are also working on a higher cost, higher quality version.

Rework of guterschuppen from lokfuehrer-lukas (1:32)

Guterschuppen lokfuehrer-lukas

The client had purchased a Goods Shop kit from Lokfuehrer-Lukas but wanted to use traditional materials (wood, plaster and glass) to replace the polypropylene parts in the kit.  Conversion cost about Euro 1,000 and completed within two months.

strength and precision

What makes our modules unique is the combination of CNC fiberglass boards, aluminium I-beams, and laser-cut wood in a wing-rib design. Dimensions can be made to Fremo, Mannheim or other custom standards. Ability to deliver assembled or in kit form for shipping. After three years, our modules have warped less than 1mm in all directions despite being in the humidity of Hong Kong.

decorated modules

For local customers in Hong Kong, we are fully equipped and experienced to deliver planted modules. We use 55kv RTS Greenkeepers and buy regularly from Silhouette and Mininatur.

Efficiency

All our modules are stackable, can be stored horizontally or vertically, and come with light weight, precise aluminium legs. Several modules can comfortably fit inside a small SUV or station wagon with the backseat folded.
